In the first semester of 2021, Samsung introduced its best ‘weapon’. Comes in 3 variants, the Galaxy 21 Series launches with a new design and abundant upgraded features. Among three, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus 5G is the middle variant. This high-end smartphone comes as a perfect choice for those who want Samsung’s best flagship experience. It offers you abundant advanced features and a wider screen.
The Samsung Galaxy S21+ 5G is simpler and thinner, only a half of the previous size. It is because the Galaxy S21 series removes the charger in order to be more environmentally friendly. In the box, you will only find the smartphone, charger cable, SIM ejector, and guidebook. The smartphone truly looks premium and fancy. With a new camera design, the bulge seems integrated and does not look bulky.
The Galaxy S21 Plus 5G uses an aluminium material on its frame and Gorilla Glass Victus on its front screen and back cover. Though it uses the aluminium material, it does not slippery or leaves fingerprints as well. The thickness is only 7.8mm and the weight stays at 200 grams.
The Galaxy S21 Plus 5G features Android 11 and the newest One UI 3.1. The appearance is getting neater and easy, especially for one-handed use. For those of you who still use an additional microSD card, you might be disappointed. Because the Galaxy S21+ is only equipped with slots for 2 nano SIM cards. This means there is no additional memory slot. The high-end smartphone is available in 2 options for internal memory capacities, which are 128GB and 256GB.
The RAM capacity stays in 8GB, there are no 12GB or 16GB options just like the Ultra variant. The stereo speaker quality is loud and detailed enough. The battery capacity is bigger, yet the power charging is not the fastest; 25W via cable and 15W wirelessly.
The screen of the Galaxy S21+ 5G is indeed inferior compared to the S20+. Both have a 6.7-inch screen dimensions with 2X Dynamic AMOLED panels, the resolution is reduced to full HD+ only. This is not a big deal, given the 120Hz refresh rate also only runs at the same resolution on the Galaxy S20+. Samsung increases the screen maximum brightness up to 1300 nits. The Galaxy S21 Plus’s screen is so clear, though you use it outdoors.
The saturation and contrast are great, typical of the AMOLED panels that Samsung flagships use in general. Unlike the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the Galaxy S21+ does not support the S Pen. The 4 bezels are also made very thin and almost the same thickness, making this smartphone looks more futuristic and not too big. The use of Qualcomm’s second-generation fingerprint sensor should be highly appreciated. You can easily unlock the screen though your finger is sweaty.
Recording videos with the Galaxy S21+ gets more flexible, suitable for professional content creators. With the director’s view mode, the smartphone allows you to take videos from the front camera and rear camera simultaneously, while providing a view of each of the 3 sensors on the back.
