Genshin Impact has been a global hit since its release on September 28th, 2020. It is only reasonable for miHoYo as its developer and publisher to continually improve the game. Players around the globe can now expect new and better things that come along with the release of version 2.0.
The most crucial addition to this open-world RPG is the so-called cross-save feature. Without a doubt, players and fans of Genshin Impact on PlayStation have been dreaming about it for so long. Finally, on July 21st, 2021, miHoYo officially provides the cross-save feature for its players. It opens up a new and better gaming experience regardless of the platforms in use.
What is this cross-save feature? The idea of this thing is that players can incorporate the same save file to play across platforms. Previously, it is only available for players who are using Android, iOS, and PC. A player can play Genshin Impact on Android outside and switch to PC inside using the same save file. So far, it is the most crucial factor to the popularity of this game.
The version 2.0 release expands the availability of that feature to PlayStation users worldwide. It means that they can now play this game anywhere and anytime. They do not need to play the game all over again when they switch devices. So, this game now has an even broader range of players with the cross-save feature. Of course, there are certain conditions to understand beforehand.
PlayStation users can now use the save file of Genshin Impact on their console by logging in with the email. For example, a player who uses an Android device to play this game will need to login into the PlayStation to synchronize the save file. After the login, the player can continue playing the game according to the previously saved progress in other platforms.
On the other hand, it is also possible to synch a saved file of this game from PlayStation to other devices. The player will need to create a new miHoYo account for the devices aside from the PlayStation. Of course, it comes with the standard regional limitation of PlayStation. It means that the save file will not work across server groups. A save file in the Asia server will only work there.
This so-called cross-save feature for PlayStation users is not the only addition to version 2.0 of Genshin Impact. There are two new expansions to play and experience immediately. The expansions consist of the Eternal Euthymia and the Immovable God. A new area is also available under the name Inazuma. It has a new event, namely Thunder Sojourn, that follows.
There are four new characters as well to play in the game. They are Sayu, Yoimiya, Ayaka, and Kamisato. In terms of weaponry, both Mistsplitter Reforged and Thundering Pulse are available for all players to grasp. Meanwhile, there are several new quests as well, alongside some new opponents to face. Version 2.0 of Genshin Impact is now available for all platforms.
